Benefield Family Update

First of all - Jessica and her children are still in need of a place to stay. They have been working on several possibilities but at the present time they are still without a place to stay. If you have a place where they might stay or rent, please contact the church office at 770-957-9715 or email us at kheath@fbclocustgrove.com. Please put Benefield in the subject line.

Second – Duane and Jean have a place to stay in Stockbridge. It is going to be fine for the two of them but…there are several furniture items that they need. If you have anything in the following list that you would give or loan to them, please contact the church office at 770-957-9715 or email kheath@fbclocustgrove.com. Please put Benefield in the subject line. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ITEMS TO THE CHURCH. We would prefer that your call or email so we can advise you if someone has already given specific items. Found One, Looking for Two More

Hey First Family,

Duane and Jean found a rental home to stay in while their house is being rebuilt! The insurance company is taking care of their needs and they have started looking at house plans.

The most immediate need the family has is for rentals units for Jessica and David. Again, if you know of any or have any you're interested in renting, please let Jessica, David, or the church know.

Looking for a Rental

Hey First Family,

The Benefield family is extremely appreciative of you all and your help in this time of need. We as staff are proud of how the church family has poured out the love of Christ to this family as well.

Just a quick update, insurance has settled with Duane and Jean and they look to start building in the coming months. Currently, they are searching for a rental home to stay in while their house is being built. If you have a rental home that could accomadate both Duane and Jean, feel free to let them or the church office know. If you know of someone with a rental home, we are sure they would appreciate that info.

As of now, that is their main need. When other needs arise, they will be updated on this blog.

Clothes, Clothes, Clothes

Hey First Family,

This update has a long list of needs, primarily clothes for the grandchildren who will be starting back to school next week.

For the boys, BJ, Rex and Douglas, there is a list of specific needs (i.e. blue jeans, shorts, shoes, shirts, socks, etc.) in the main foyer at the church. Please stop by and pick-up one of the sheets if you'd like to help. You are more than welcome to buy new clothes or donate consignment quality clothes from one of your children.

For the girls, we would like monetary donations so that someone can take them shopping for their clothes. Feel free to stop by the church and make a donation during office hours.

School supplies would be greatly appreciated as well. Purchasing notebooks, notebook paper, pens, pencils, erasers, etc. would all be great ways to help the family.

Since school starts next week, we would like to have the boys clothing, donations for girls clothing, and school supplies turned in by Friday, July 30th.

Also, if anyone would like to watch or babysit the grandchildren this week it would be appreciated and helpful for Jean and Duane.

Insurance Adjuster and Salvage Day

Hey First Family,

We have set up a blog to keep everyone up on the Benefield Family and their current situation. We are so blessed to have such a loving and caring church family who want to help in any way they can. Keep checking in with this blog for current updates and needs the Benefield Family might have.

Today, July 28th, the insurance adjuster is coming out to look at the house and assess the damage. The church is providing lunch and drinks for the family to help since they will be spending much of their day outside. The family does have temporary living arrangements figured out so they will have a place to relax after this long day.

As far as needs, they could use help salvaging some of their personal items. They will be working on this today so feel free to go help. Their address is 678 Higgins Rd, LG, GA 30248. There will also be a more extensive needs list posted in the next update.
